Search & Replace for Elementor adds a search and replace panel directly inside the Elementor editor, available in both the Free and Pro versions – no need to leave the editor to update text, URLs, or images.
Accessing Search & Replace
Open any published Elementor post or page, then:
- Click the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner of the editor.
- Select Search & Replace from the menu.
If you’ve enabled the Editor Top Bar (via Elementor > Settings > Experiments), a Search & Replace icon also appears directly in the top menu for quicker access. Either way opens a modal with all the available search and replace tools.
Free vs. Pro: Key Differences
The main difference is the raw data limit for search and replace:
- Free: default raw data limit of 300KB.
- Pro: raise this limit under the Options tab, for larger pages or more complex content.
Step 1: Search
- Choose your search method: Text-only (locate and highlight text), Links (URLs) (modify URLs), or Images (replace image references).
- Optionally enable Highlight Text (temporarily highlights results) or Case-Sensitive Search (match text exactly).
- Enter your search term and click Search.
You’ll get a response with the number of matches found. For a Text-only search, matches are highlighted directly in the editor – no changes are made yet, only markers for review. Clear these anytime with the Clear button.
Step 2: Replace
- Review the highlighted results.
- Enter the replacement text or URL, then click Replace.
Changes apply immediately. If something’s wrong, click Undo next to the results message to revert the content to its previous state.
Automatic Saves and Safeguards
At every stage – search, replace, or undo – the page is saved automatically. You don’t need to manually update the page afterward.
